ASICS GT-2160 KOGARASHI: Where Winter Winds Meet Summer Sun

A molten sun crests the distant horizon of a cool winter’s night. As the sun rises into the sky, the acrid black of night fades to a soft orange glow. The winter sky crackles with warmth, and dark gives way to light as the first winds of winter begin to blow, a cooling embrace against the warm heavens – this is Kogarashi.

For their latest iteration of the GT-2160, ASICS brought a select group of their exclusive TOMO accounts together to collaborate and brainstorm on a novel story and look. From this came Kogarashi, a Japanese saying that commemorates the arrival of the wilting winds of winter, and the natural harmony of seasons. This deeply spiritual ideation of natural harmony was envisaged to unify the disparate identities of ASICS’s local partners, dozens of novel visions all unified under one shared experience.
