New Balance is one of the hottest, slickest sneaker brands in the world. That’s a sentence that might have seemed inconceivable ten years ago but is indisputable today. This transformation hasn’t happened overnight, it’s the result of years of careful orchestration and curation.
The all-new 9060 is a physical actualization of the metamorphosis New Balance has undergone. As an amalgamation of the iconic 860v2 and the 990 series, it ties back to New Balance’s past while confidently striding into the future. The premium leather and suede upper takes the iconic lines of the 990 series and exaggerates them, bending and stretching them at will.
The ‘N’ logo has been treated with a 3M coating while its counterpart on the inner medial has been realized with beautifully stitched, abstract embroidery. The midsole is dramatic, to say the least, blending streetwear with hits of high fashion influence in its chunky, multi-layered design. Its multi-tonal design rises and falls beneath the upper, cresting just below the motion control CR device at the heel, a staple of the 990 line. Finally, the rubber outsole features a six-stand finish complete with colored diamond centerpieces.
